Welcome to VW’s Osteopathy
You will be seen by a fully qualified and General Osteoapthic Council registered Osteopath. You will be asked detailed questions about your current complaint, medical history, and general health including medication.
A standing examination is necessary to assess the area of injury.
You may be asked to undress to your underwear to enable the Osteopath to undertake the examination, while at all times respecting your privacy and dignity. Please therefore wear suitable, comfortable clothes.
You will be asked to do simple movements to show the range of mobility and simple medical tests may be used to focus on the correct diagnosis, such as testing reflexes.
A diagnosis and treatment plan will be discussed before treatment takes place.
Some patients experience some discomfort for up to 48 hours after treatment such as aching or soreness, but this is a normal reaction and this should subside, if you are at all concerned about your treatment or after care please discuss this with your Osteopath.Aftercare prescription may include, hot/cold therapy, exercise regimes. Postural advice will be given at the end of the treatment when necessary.
